SEASON 2, EPISODE 11 – THE OUTSIDER – (aired on January 13, 2013)
Summary: this episode will feature some shocking surprises at the end, and all the Belle – Rumple fans will enjoy it . I believe all of you remember very well that our beloved Archie is assumed dead and in this episode Storybrooke citizens are arranging his funeral. Of course, the real Archie is very much alive, although probably not to happy with the fact he is being held on the Hook’s boat and interoggated by some questionable methods! On the other side of Storybrooke, Gold is having a “nice” chat with Smee and as he pushes him over the Storybrooke’s boarder, Gold discovers that crossing over makes people retain their memories! Gold is excited and tells Belle that he can pour a potion on the object a person holds most dear, and the object will magically enable the person to cross the border with the memories intact. And that is exactly what Mr. Gold intends to do with Baelfire’s shawl in order to come closer to his biggest wish – the return of his son! Afterwards, Belle comes to the library, where she is being attacked by the Hook who is seeking his revenge over Rumple. Belle shows her great spirit as she is trying to escape but at the end Gold comes to her rescue . Unfortunately, at the same time Hook and Smee took the shawl from Gold’s shop which makes Belle wonder why is Hook so angry at Gold. Rumple then admits to Belle that Hook is responsible for taking his wife Milah but doesn’t want to tell the truth how Milah really died. Gold immediately gets his revenge on Smee when he turns him into a rat and the Belle wanting to help, head over to Hook’s boat! Of course, there she discovers that Archie is alive and as these two now search the ship for Gold’s shawl, Hook shows and takes her gun. The important thing is that Hook finally tells Belle the truth about Milah’s death – that Rumple pulled out her heart and crushed it. Once again Belle manages to escape from Hook and as he continues to chase her, Mr. Gold appears and is on the verge of killing Hook. But Belle, with her good heart as always, saves Hook who promises to get lost from Storybrooke forever. As Belle and Gold reunited and emotional head towards the Storybrooke border with the shawl, here comes the biggest shock of the night – Hook shows up and shoots Belle in the back! Belle then falls over the border line and loses her identity. But the shock doesn’t stop there, because all of sudden, a car emerges out of nowhere and crashes into Hook. Meanwhile, Archie who has been saved by Belle, shows up very much alive and lets everybody know that Cora framed Regina for his death. Of course, we can only imagine what will Regina do once the truth is out! Back in the Fairytale Land, we discover how Belle met Mulan, and how these two while chasing a monster together met Prince Phillip.
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: it was great to see so much nice Belle – Rumple moments and I hope to see some more soon . Episode brought some shocking twists and left us all waiting impatiently for the next one!
SEASON 2, EPISODE 10 – THE CRICKET GAME – (aired on January 6, 2013)
Summary: After 4 loooong weeks of break, finally, new OUAT episodes are here . The Cricket Game brought to us fans a lot of surprises, a murder and a romance. You probably all remember how the previous episode ended with an emotional reunion between Emma, Snow, Charming and Henry. Well, their joy and happy times together are the highlight of the first part of the episode. Snow and Charming finally get to spend some time together and enjoy their love (making Emma blush as she walks on them ). Emma decides to throw a surprise welcome party for Snow and the whole Storybrooke is celebrating this great moment. But Emma also invited Regina to the party which doesn’t come with a full approval from the rest of the Storybrooke people who obviously still remember very well all about Regina’s past. While Emma tries to smooth things up with Regina, she makes a mistake of revealing to her that she knows about Regina’s sessions with Archie. Angry Regina pays Archie not to friendly visit. Shortly after, Archie is found dead with only witness of his murder being his dog. Naturally, first suspect is Regina! But of course, at this point we have to remember one more shocking thing from the previous episode – the fact that Cora and Hook managed to pass through the portal and came to Storybrooke. While Hook is planning to get his revenge on Rumple, Cora is determined to ruin Regina’s life and as the matter of fact, the lives of all Storybrooke people! So Cora uses magic to become Regina and kills Archie, knowing that real Regina will take the fall. While Emma is the only one believing in Regina’s innocence, Rumple discovers that Emma can read other peoples’ memories and that she can see into dog’s memories and see who the real killer is. Sadly, dog saw Regina (only we know it was Cora). Once again our poor Regina gets a short end of the stick! At the end, we discover that Archie is still alive , but captured by Cora on the boat with her evil plan.
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: it was an interesting episode, especially to see how Emma gets more and more relaxed with her new magic powers! I’m glad Archie is still alive and all this promise some very exciting future episodes.
SEASON 2, EPISODE 9 – QUEEN OF HEARTS – (aired on December 2, 2012)
Summary: after two and a half exciting months, this was OUAT mid-season finale after which we will have to wait some time till the next fairytale magic episodes! And as expected, this episode was superb! Action packed until the end with some important revelations and twists. So, let’s get started and say the most important things at once! Yes, to no surprise, Cora is the Queen of Hearts and Emma and Snow will manage to get back to Storybrooke for a emotional reunion . This episode reveals that Regina sent Hook back to kill Cora i.e. to take her heart. But when Hook realizes that breaking a curse would mean a lost memory for him, he joins Cora who creates a protection shield over their island. Emma, Snow, Aurora and Mulan get to the Rumple’s house but Cora and Hook are there waiting to kill them (don’t forget that Cora controls Aurora’s heart so she knows every girls’ move). At first the girls are trapped but they manage to find the magic ink and free themselves and at the last moment they come to the portal in order to stop Cora and Hook from going through. In the exciting battle, we discover that Emma has some kind of magic powers! WOW! What a great twist! When Cora tries to take Snow’s heart, Emma comes to the rescue and Cora discovers that she can’t snatch Emma’s heart because of her inner magic energy! Back in Storybrooke Regina and Mr. Gold don’t believe that Emma and Snow will win and they are preparing a curse to kill anyone coming out of the portal in order to stop Cora’s return! But Henry manages to persuade Regina that good will win and she agrees to stop the curse! Finally the girls are back and we see an emotional reunion, especially when Snow awakens the Charming with a kiss from a true love! WOW. Mulan stays in the fairytale present in order to save Aurora by placing her heart back! The episode ends with a two shocking twists – Aurora tells Mulan that Princ Phillip is still alive and Hook pulls out a trick which brings him and Cora through the portal to Storybrooke!
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: this was a superb episode worth of the finale! It was the best of this season for me and I especially loved the fact that Emma turned out to have magic powers and how Snow kissed Charming. I can’t wait for January!
SEASON 2, EPISODE 8 – INTO THE DEEP – (aired on November 25, 2012)
Summary: this was an emotional episode revolving mainly upon the idea of how true love and faith can be strong, no mather if we are talking about man and woman or parent and child. And we get to see Charming and Snow re-united, if only for a few emotional seconds! The episode starts with Cora being pissed of with Hook for giving Emma the magic compass. Henry and Aurora keep having the shared dream and Emma and Snow finally realize what is going on and they believe these dreams are the way to defeat Cora and get back to Storybrooke. Henry tells about dreams and Cora to David and Regina who are both scared for Henry who suddenly wants to be a hero and save Emma and Snow. But Cora kidnapes Aurora and wants to trade her for the magic compass. While the girls in the Fairytale present are fighting against Cora and Hook, Charming wants to take Henry’s place in dreams because he realizes it’s a dangerous trip. And he gets help from Regina and Gold in protecting Henry. Now that Charming is in a dream, he comes to the red room and finds Snow there! He manages to tell her about the magic ink which can help them come back and they share a very emotional moment together before they part their ways again (I think everybody cried a few tears here!). Now the girls go to find the magic ink and Aurora is saved, but they don’t know that Hook took her heart and gave it to Cora who now controls Aurora totally! Bad boy Hook!
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: I really enjoyed this episode! There were a few very emotional moments and now I can’t wait for Charming and Snow to re-unit. And I’m still interested to see the whole Emma and Hook story We can expect an exciting mid season finale!
SEASON 2, EPISODE 7 – CHILD OF THE MOON – (aired on November 11, 2012)
Summary: what is different about this season is that usually every episode has one character in the center of the story while others play minor roles. So, in this episode main plot centers around Ruby/Red, both in present and past. In Storybrooke present, Billy invites Ruby to a date but she declines due to the fact it’s a full moon and we all know Ruby is not the person you would like to spend that night with . While Granny keeps her locked up, the next day Billy is found dead and Albert convinces people that Ruby is to blame and the moob goes after her. Luckily, David is convinced Ruby is innocent and does everything is his power to prove that. At the end, David discovers that Albert killed Billy and framed Ruby in attempt to gain control over Storybrooke and saves Ruby but Albert gets his revenge in destroying the magic Jefferson’s hat that could have brought Emma and Mary Margaret home. (appearance of the magic hat is connected with the fact that dwarves found diamonds in the mine which grained turn into fairy dust that can work with magic hat to break spells). Back in the fairytale past, Red discovers that her mother, Anita, is not really dead, but instead lives in underground tunnels with other wolves. Red is happy and wants to stay there with her mother but when Snow follows her and brings danger to the wolves, Red must choose between her mother and Snow – and chooses Snow, the only person who believed in her. In the meantime, Henry and Aurora keep having joint nightmares which are getting worse, but Mr. Gold gives Henry a necklace that can help him control the dreams.
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: I was glad to see more of Ruby/Red and her story. It was exciting and interesting and I loved how David stood up for her!
SEASON 2, EPISODE 6 – TALLAHASSEE – (aired on November 4, 2012)
Summary: this episode was exciting and very well played bringing answers to some important questions and raising new ones of course The focus was on Emma and we finally discovered how she met Henry’s dad! But let’s go from the beginning. Back in the Enchanted forest, Hook informs ladies that they need the magic compass to be able to go back to Storybrooke and that Hook knows a way how to get it. Emma joins forces with Hook and they go on a mission to get the compass. And I noticed some sparks between Emma and Hook , it could be an intro to a new love story. Anyway, these two manage to beat the giant who is protecting the compass with the help of special magic powder Mulan gave to Emma. In the mean time, Aurora and Henry both have the same nightmare which they don’t understand, leaving us to think there is a new mystery there. Back to the Emma’s past. We see her in Portland 2001 trying to steal a car, but unfortunately she doesn’t notice the owner of a car is sleeping in it. And yes, it’s the Mystery Man from episode 1, known as Neal Cassidy in real life. It turns out he too stole the car. Emma and Neal fall in love and for some time live the “Bonnie and Clyde” style, happy. But when Neal discover there is a wanted poster on him, he tries to fix things with Emma’s help. But while Emma is out trying to return some stolen watches for him, we see that the man chasing Neal is August! (surprise). August tells Neal about the magic and that Emma has a destiny she could only fulfill if Neal left her. And he shows Neal a special box. The content of the box makes Neal believe August and he runs away leaving Emma go to jail (pregnant), but we see that he is sorry and that August is to blame while Emma doesn’t know the real truth.
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: this was a great episode and I dare to say even the best one this season! I loved the Emma story and I’m very excited to see what happens next. I only missed Regina and Mr. Gold, but I believe we will see much more of them soon.
SEASON 2, EPISODE 5 – THE DOCTOR – (aired on October 28, 2012)
Summary: after being almost non existent in episodes 3 & 4, Regina is finally back! And I loved her story! This Sunday was packed with action, since now we are tracking stories from 3 worlds! Storybrook present, fairy tale past and fairy tale present! In fairy tale present, Emma, Snow, Aurora and Mulan return to their camp only to find everybody slaughtered – i.e. everybody except Hook! Emma realizes it was Cora’s doing and she also gets suspicious about Hook being the only one alive. Hook then has to admit that he wants to get his hands on Rumpelstiltskin, the man responsible for losing his hand and if the girls help him, in return he will lead him to a magic compass before Cora. In fairy tale past, we see Regina learning magic from Rumple, but she finds it difficult to hurt innocent living beings. She then tells Rumple that she wants to bring Daniel back to life! He can’t help her, but Jefferson offers to take her to Dr. Whale who can do that. And back to Storybrooke present – David/Charming knocks out Dr. Whale when he finds out Doctor slept with Snow. Dr. Whale just wants to be sent back to past but he goes to Rumple asking for his hand back and we realize that Dr. Whale could be Dr. Frankenstein himself! At the same time Regina admits to Dr. Hooper she has been hiding Daniel’s body in the family mausoleum and she finally succeeds in bringing him back to life but only to realize that she must let him go and stop living in the past!
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: this was interesting and emotional episode at the same time. I’m amazed how the writers are able to keep the story fresh at three fronts at the same time Regina’s story was great and at the end, I kind of felt sorry for her.
SEASON 2, EPISODE 4 – THE CROCODILE – (aired on October 21, 2012)
Summary: this episode will introduce more of the famous fairy tale characters and the main plot this time doesn’t involve our main characters Emma, Mary Margaret and Regina! Back in the past, we see Rumple and his wife Milah arguing because of his cowardness and she wants to leave town to get fresh start. But Rumple refuses and then Milah gets kidnapped by pirates and taken on the boat. Rumple doesn’t have the courage to fight for her and his wife is lost. Few years later, when he has the power of the Dark One, he goes after his wife and then we see that the pirates’ Captain is Captain Hook! When Rumple wants to save his wife, Milah admits she never loved him and Rumple takes her heart and kills her and chops of Captain’s hand. In the present, Belle is asking Mr. Gold to be honest with her but soon discovers he can’t be trusted completely. She feels lost and Mr. Smee and his father send her and dwarfes to look for fairy dust in the mines. Belle realizes Mr. Gold’s main goal is to bring back his son.
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: this was interesting episode in the way we saw new fairytale characters and a hint of spoiler that Smee could be Petar Pan or maybe Mr. Gold’s son! But I did missed main characters and their storyline.
SEASON 2, EPISODE 3 – LADY OF THE LAKE – (aired on October 14, 2012)
Summary: as we saw in the previous episode, Emma and Mary Margaret went through a portal and got trapped in the fairytale world! Once there, they decided to unite with Lancelot, Mulan and Aurora to find there way back to Storybrooke. But this won’t be easy because Cora uses her dark magic to interfere with their plan in anyway possible. She even tries to get Emma’s trust but Snow knows better. Our favorite heroines are in it for a shocking surprise once they realize Lancelot’s true identity. Cora proves that she could be even more dangerous then Rumpelstiltskin! At the same time, King George poisons Snow White and Charming must go to the Lady of the Lake to save her.
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: for me, this episode was final confirmation that this season is even better then the first one! Great scenes, it will be very interesting to see development of storyline with Cora and will she be more evil then even Mr. Gold. I was a little annoyed with the fact Emma didn’t trust her mother (MM) at first, but ok, I suppose children are stubborn
SEASON 2, EPISODE 2 – WE ARE BOTH – (aired on October 7, 2012)
Summary: Mary Margaret and Emma both disappeared and everyone is puzzled about it. David is going to look out for them and before he goes, he is trying to maintain a positive atmosphere among the Storybrooke people. Finally, we get to see how Rumplestiltskin and Regina first met and that it has to do something with Regina’s mother – Cora. Regina attempts to recover her magic powers and at the end she will face a difficult decision about herself and her son Henry leading to a shocking episode finale. We finally see what happened to August Booth/Pinocchio
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: this was an amazing episode, with some rather shocking twists. We finally see the truth about Regina and her mother Cora, and maybe for the first time realize that Regina didn’t stood a chance to become a good person while having a mother like Cora. Henry is playing an important part in this episode and he will be the one that will bring out that surprising finale.
SEASON 2, EPISODE 1 – BROKEN – (aired on September 30, 2012)
Summary: Welcome back our beloved magical, fantasy land The Season 2 premiere picks up where Mr. Gold’s actions left us! The curse is broken and the people of Storybrooke must deal with the truth and the fact that now they remember everything. Things are going to become as interesting in the real world as in the parallel universe of fairytale land. Mr. Gold has brought magic back and double-crossed Emma, but Regina will quickly see that her powers will not restore as easily as she thought. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world, Prince Phillip and his traveling companion, Mulan, face a dangerous opponent.
Once Upon A Time episode guide special rating: what a great season opening this was! Finally we see some strong action in the real world as well (and not only in fairytale land!). Love the fact Emma is reunited with her parents at last but even more I loved the twist that some of the main characters got trapped in the fairyland My only remark – Henry does love Regina? Really?
